  • Dodson Makraven (OS-72-2), nicknamed "Night Beast" due to his curfew violations, was a Human male pilot who served in the Imperial Navy of the First Galactic Empire during the First Galactic Civil War. Becoming a pilot of Obsidian 2 of the Obsidian Squadron, Dodson was part of the occupying force that took control of Cloud City from Baron Administrator Lando Calrissian and pursued the Millennium Falcon as it made its escape from the city, flying as Civé Rashon's (OS-72-1) wingman.

Born from an unknown homeworld, Dodson Makraven was recruited by the Galactic Empire and trained at the Flight School, the Imperial Navy's system for training TIE pilots. After passing his testing procedure, Dodson became an Imperial pilot of the Imperial Navy and earned himself in flying a TIE/LN starfighter. When the First Galactic Civil War started in 2 BBY, resulting the birth of the Rebel Alliance which dedicated to the restoration of the Galactic Republic, Dodson became a pilot of Obsidian 2 of the Obsidian Squadron.

In 3 ABY, Dodson Makraven, along with Civé Rashon and her squadron, participated in the Imperial occupation of Cloud City on the gas giant Bespin, and searching for the Millennium Falcon which contained the Rebel Alliance fugitives Han Solo, Leia Organa and Chewbacca. After an injured Luke Skywalker was rescued by Leia, Chewbacca, and Lando Calrassian, Dodson flew as Rashon's wingman to pursue the Rebels and prevent them from escaping. Once the Falcon escaped the planet to avoid capture by the Empire, Rashon and her squadron chased the ship through space, accompanied by Supreme Commander Darth Vader's command ship, the Super Star Destroyer Executor. The Executor attempted to capture the Falcon by absorbing the ship in its tractor beam, having previously deactivated the fugitive ship's hyperdrive on Bespin. However, the Falcon unexpectedly escaped into hyperspace, and Obsidian Squadron and the Executor failed their mission.

One year later, Dodson followed Rashon and Obsidian Squadron during the Battle of Endor. As the Alliance Fleet exited from hyperspace and moved to attack the apparently unshielded Death Star, the Empire was jamming the Alliance and the shield was likely still up. The Empire, having previously been informed of the imminent attack, staged a trap to capture and crush the Rebellion by sandwiching the Alliance Fleet between the Imperial Sector Fleet and the Death Star II. Dodson was one of the pilots that were deployed from the Imperial Fleet to engage the Rebel fighters and capital ships. However, during the battle, Dodson was shot down by a X-wing starfighter and killed.
