Krayt's Claw, also known as the Fett Gotra after it became a crime organization during the Age of the New Republic, was a Tatooine-based syndicate of Bounty Hunters led by the adolescent bounty hunter Boba Fett that operated during the Clone Wars. The syndicate mostly consisted of either five to six hunters: Fett, Bossk, C-21 Highsinger, and Latts Razzi operated with the team regularly, while other members like Oked, Dengar, Asajj Ventress, and Embo participated less frequently for various reasons.
Krayt's Claw continued to remain active for years until Boba Fett, who became the Daimyo of Mos Espa in the year 11 ABY during the First Galactic Civil War and era of the New Galactic Republic, became the crimelord and made Krayt's Claw his personal criminal empire, which was evolved from Jabba Desilijic Tiure's old criminal empire, for which Bib Fortuna had taken over as the new crime lord in the wake of Jabba's death. Fortuna's rule lasted for over seven years until he was assassinated by Boba Fett. Assuming absolute control over his territory, including Jabba's Palace, Boba Fett became the self-proclaimed Daimyo of Mos Espa. However, ever since he began his reign on Tatooine, he was challenged by Jabba's cousins, who were known as the Twins that sought to take exact control over their cousin's fallen empire.
In the wake of Boba Fett taking control over the fallen criminal empire and began to expand into Mos Espa, Garsa Fwip's cantina, now known as the the Hidden Sanctuary into a dependency that paid tribute to the new Daimyo. Unlike his predecessor, Boba aspired to rule through respect instead of fear. While he claimed Mos Espa as his territory, the city's leader, Mayor Mok Shaiz declined to become Fett's vassal. Fett's hold on power was challenged by the arrival of Jabba's relatives, the Twins of Nal Hutta, and the Pyke Syndicate from Oba Diah. Mok Shaiz joined the Pykes in spite of Fett's efforts to vassalize the Mayor of Mos Espa.
