    Biography

Before the First Galactic Civil War began, Phoenix Squadron was part of the Phoenix Rebel Cell that was led by Commander Jun Sato and was part of the wider Rebel Network, operated by Senator Bail Prestor Organa and former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano "Fulcrum". The squadron piloted A-wing Starfighters and were carried aboard Sato's command ship Home Base. The squadron was also carried aboard the fleet's blockade runners, using docking tubes. They flew on missions with the rebels and the crew of the Ghost. In 4 BBY, several members of the squadron were lost in a space battle with Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith. The survivors then scattered with the rest of the fleet.

When the civil war across the galaxy broke out in 2 BBY, Phoenix Squadron aligned with the Rebel Alliance and the whole starfighter squadron would later consist of B-wing Starfighters. In 3 ABY, Phoenix Squadron was part a failed attempt to destroy the Immobilizer 418 cruiser Compellor. Their role was to attempt to destroy the Compellor by disabling her weapon systems with mag pulse warheads, then attack with volley of proton torpedos. Viper Squadron provided starfighter cover for Phoenix Squadron during the attack on the Compellor. Unfortunately for the Alliance, both squadrons were lost in the engagement.
