Ruisto was a planet that was located in the Ruisto System of the Calamari Sector.
History[]
Sometime between the years 4400 and 4200 BBY, the planet Ruisto was one of the first worlds colonized by the Mon Calamari outside their own star system. Later in the year 4166 BBY, a group of scouts that served within the Old Galactic Republic, encountered the Mon Calamari starships near Ruisto during the expansion of the Perlemian Trade Route. This led to the planet to join the Old Republic, and small shipyards were given permission to orbit the world. The world remained inhabital for many thousands of years and the whole Mon Calamari population was estimated to over several trillion. During the First Galactic Civil War, most of Ruisto's population was killed by orbital barrage from a Star Destroyer fleet while the rest managed to survive the terrible devastation in 2 ABY. The attack was a deliberate act of revenge for the defeat of the Galactic Empire on the planet Dac.
